High drama was witnessed near Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's residence in New Delhi on Wednesday when Bharatiya Janata party leader Vijay Goel drove a Blueline bus near her house to convey the message that private buses in the city were being run by inexperienced drivers like him. Goel was later arrested by the police. "I did this to drive home the message to the chief minister that Blueline buses are being run by inexperienced drivers like me, putting the lives of Delhiites at risk," Goel said.
On Sunday, a Blueline bus had mowed down seven people while a motorcyclist was crushed to death by another bus on Tuesday.
"Sheila Dikshit should also travel on Blueline buses and experience the risk herself," he said, referring to the Chief Minister's reported remark some months back that she would rather walk than travel on a Blueline bus.
Goel demanded that experienced people should be given the responsibility of driving Blueline buses.
The BJP leader and former Union minister was taken to the Parliament Street Police Station after his arrest from near the 3, Moti Lal Nehru Marg residence of the chief minister.
