They made people laugh and think

India-born Lakshminarayanan Mahadevan of Harvard University and Enrique Cerda Villablanca of Chile University have received the 2007 Ig Nobel Prize [Images] at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The dazzling duo studied how sheets become wrinkled.The prizes are given by the Harvard-based science humour magazine Annals of Improbable Research and honour achievements that first make people laugh, and then make them think.

The awards are considered a parody of Nobel Prizes. They are presented by a group that includes Nobel Laureates.
