The Supreme Court on Friday said that its direction to seal the premises that are used for unauthorised commercial activities in the residential areas on the un-notified roads in the national capital will remain operational.
"It needs no reiteration that the order dated February 12 will be carried out to its logical end," a bench headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat said.
The court by its February 12 order had halted the sealing drive on 2183 roads notified for mixed land use under the new master plan for Delhi 2021.
The court was informed by senior advocate Ranjit Kumar, who is assisting as amicus curiae in the matter, that the sealing operation has come to a grinding halt as according to the monitoring committee report the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was reluctant to carry out the drive.
