Satyam [Get Quote] Computers general manager Vedula Satyanarayana, who was kidnapped by four persons in Secunderabad on Tuesday morning, was rescued by a special police team near Nekkonda in Warangal district, about 160 km from Hyderabad.

"Vedula Satyanarayana has been rescued and is being brought to Hyderabad," Gopalpuram Division Assistant Commissioner of Police Y V Ramana told rediff.com.

The police arrested the main accused Venkanna and three others in connection with the kidnapping.

40-year-old Satyanarayana was kidnapped after he dropped his daughters -- 6-year-old Diksha and 4-year-old Rishita -- at Geetanjali Devashray School at Sarojini Devi Road.

After he asked his driver to park the car nearby and crossed the road to drop the children at the school, he did not return.

The worried driver called up Satyanarayana's wife Kiranmayee who later lodged a complaint at the Gopalpuram police station. The police registered a case under Section 354 began the probe.

Their inquiries with the auto drivers near the school provided the first clues. The drivers told the police that they saw him being taken away in an Indica car by three persons.

Before lodging the complaint, Kiranmayee had made a call to her husband to find his whereabouts. Though he had told her that he was attending an urgent meeting at his office, the police found, with the help of the mobile company, that the call was received on Satyanarayana's cell somewhere near Bhongir in Nalgonda district. As the cell phone was switched off later, the police could not figure out his whereabouts.

According to police sources, they tracked the kidnappers by tracing a ransom call that Satyanarayana's family received late in the evening. Tracing the location to Nekkonda in Warangal district, local police teams rushed and surrounded a house where he was being held by the kidnappers. The police rescued him and took the four persons, including the main accused, into custody.
