Incessant rains affected normal life and disrupted road traffic in Sirohi and Udaipur districts in Rajasthan. Mount Abu recorded a heavy downpour of 35.3 cm of rainfall till 8.00 am, Met office sources said in Jaipur.Pindwara (27.9 cm), Kotada (25.4), Sirohi (24.2) and Reodar (12.7) received rainfall as the Southwest monsoon was active over the state, weather office said.
Barring Bikaner district, light to moderate rains occurred at all places in the state till Wednesday morning.
Dismissing the media reports on evacuation of villagers apprehending heavy rains in Barmer district, the Superintendent of Police Nitin Deep told PTI that no one was asked to leave the Kawas and Malwa villages, which witnessed the worst ever floods in 2006.
Deep said there was not even good monsoon rains in the district, and everyone who were rehabilitated in the district were living comfortably and there was no panic among them. Jaipur and Jodhpur also experienced intermittent light showers since yesterday. Though Jaipur's sub-urban towns Jamwaramgarh and Chomu received heavy rains in last two days.
Ajmer and Udaipur districts also received moderate to heavy rains which was measured up to 5 to 8 cms.
