The Supreme Court on Friday refused to entertain a petition seeking disciplinary and punitive action against police officers for their alleged negligence, which resulted in the serial killings at Nithari. A Bench headed by Justice B N Aggarwal rejected the petition after holding that the apex court cannot monitor the proceedings of the case on a day-to-day basis as the matter was already being investigated by the authorities concerned. The petition was filed by the Akhil Bharatiya Dalit Mahila Evam Samaj Sudhar Samiti.
