Amid huge protests, a case has been registered under various sections against hardliner separatist leader Sayed Ali Shah Geelani for preaching secessionism on Eid-ul-Azha, police said on Wednesday.

Police said a case has been registered against the Hurriyat leader and others for preaching secessionism on Eid-ul-Azha at Sheedhi Chowk on Monday.

Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and other organisations staged demonstrations at various parts of the city, shouting slogans against the Jammu and Kashmir administration, alleging that it patronises anti-national forces.
