India will follow established rules to extradite controversial Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi -- wanted in the Bofors kickbacks case -- from Argentina where he has been detained, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Saturday."We will follow the set government rules and CBI has been entrusted with the responsibility (of extraditing Quattrocchi)," Mukherjee told reporters in Berhampore who sought his comments on the issue.
"It is the main responsibility of the CBI," he said.
To another question, Mukherjee said the Indian government has not yet talked to the Argentinian government on the extradition of Quattrocchi.
Quattrocchi, against whom an Interpol Red Corner Notice had been issued, was detained and taken into preventive custody on February 6 at Argentina's Iguazu international airport while in transit to Buenos Aires.
