Iran has said India shared its stand on the right to peaceful nuclear energy and rejected imposition of sanctions as a solution to the impending issue.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, ahead of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee's official visit to Tehran, on Sunday said India did not consider imposition of sanctions as an appropriate solution to the nuclear issue.
"Iran and India enjoys close friendly relations," the spokesman was quoted in Tehran Times as saying.
