Uproar in Lok Sabha over sniffer dog at Rajghat

Uproarious scenes were witnessed in Lok Sabha on Friday over the US security personnel taking their sniffer dog on the pathway around Mahatma Gandhi' [Images] Samadhi at Rajghat just before US President George W Bush's [Images] arrival to pay his obeisance.

Waving a newspaper, Rajiv Ranjan Singh of the Janata Dal-United said, "The government has lowered the national prestige and they should apologise."

Rashtriya Janata Dal's Ram Kirpal Yadav and members from the Bahujan Samaj Party supported him.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi pacified them.

Bharatiya Janata Party members, on the other hand, stalled the proceedings for a short period, protesting against the railway minister for ignoring Madhya Pradesh in the Railway Budget.

Shouting slogans against Lalu Prasad, the BJP members stormed the well soon after the House met.

Normalcy was restored soon, with Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal going ahead with the Question Hour.
