Militants on Friday carried out two powerful explosions in summer capital Srinagar [Images] and Doda district in Jammu region injuring 13 persons, including nine paramilitary personnel.

Police said three Central Reserve Police Force troopers and two civilians were injured when militants attacked a CRPF party with a powerful hand grenade near the main bus stand in Doda town.

"Militants lobbed a grenade at CRPF soldiers who were having tea at a local hotel near the main bus stand in Doda town. The injured were taken to hospital for treatment," said a senior police officer in Srinagar.

In another attack at Karan Nagar in uptown Srinagar, militants hurled a grenade at CRPF troopers manning a bunker, which exploded injuring six soldiers and two civilians.

The injured were taken to SMHS hospital for treatment. The condition of an injured trooper is stated to be serious.
