FIR registered against Vinay Katiyar, Sahib Singh Verma

A first information report was registered on Saturday against senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Vinay Katiyar and Sahib Singh Verma by Jammu and Kashmir [Images] police for their statement announcing monetary rewards to civilians killing militants.

Katiyar and Verma have been booked for "making provocative statements" and "inciting communal passions" under Section 123-A and 153-A of the Ranbir Penal Code in Nowabad police station in Jammu, Deputy Inspector General of Police Niaz Mehmood told PTI.

Katiyar and Verma had announced a reward of Rs 1,00,000 each to any civilian for killing a militant and Rs 2,00,000 to a civilian's family if he laid down his life fighting militants.
