Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil on Monday hinted that action would be taken if Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi [Images] made any 'objectionable' statements during his address at an anti-terrorism rally in Mumbai.

"He (Modi) should not make any objectionable statements. If he does, the law will take its course," Patil, who also holds the home portfolio, informed the state assembly after the issue of the July 11 train blasts was raised in the House.

"You (opposition) have succeeded in making a political capital of the blasts once. You will not be allowed to succeed a second time," Patil said, adding, "Those behind the blasts would be brought to justice."

Police would also crack down on those spreading rumours related to blasts and seeking to create law and order problems using technologies like SMS, he said.

"The state government would examine the statements of all political leaders in connection with recent incidents, including the blasts, and action would be taken against those found guilty," Patil said.
