Kerala: Film protest against Bush

In a unique protest against the US President George Bush's [Images] visit, the Anti-Bush Campaign Committee in Kochi is organising a three-day festival of documentary films in Kochi from March 3 on alleged atrocities by the US in different countries.

As part of the festival, 12 documentaries will be screened.

Malayalam film actor Murali will inaugurate the festival, committee convenor C R Neelakanthan told reporters.

Among the films to be screened are The Last Stand of Salvador Allende, portraying the final hours of the Chilean leader and Breaking the Silence by John Pilger, based on the war on the US invasion in Afghanistan, he said.

A four-minute musical America America by K P Sasi depicts the 'US urge to wage war against erring nations'.

The film Mazhar Bahari by the Iranian film director tells the story of the realities behind the US invasion of Iraq.

The other films to be screened are: El Salvadore - Another Vietnam, Bombies, We Interrupt this Empire, Colour and Anthem, Peace and Liberty Rally, Stop Killing my Kids, Still Life and Battle's Poison cloud - Vietnam war.
