US says the final bill on Indo-US civil nuclear cooperation will be through in the Congressional process in the next 36 hours. Burns said the administration hoped the conciliation bill will go through the Congressional process in the next 36 hours and the President would thereafter sign it into law.
Maintaining that he had not seen the final legislation, he said the administration did not expect "any major surprises" from the conciliation measure.
Burns felt that the bill will be "within the parameters" of the understanding reached on July 18 last year and March two this year between Singh and Bush.
He said it will be a mistake to comment on the proposed legislation of Congress as he had not seen the final outcome.
The US will take all the steps mandated in the accords like the 123 Agreement and also measures before the International Atomic Energy Agency. He said the bill had strong bipartisan support.
