A professor, supervising students' union elections in a local college, died of heart attack on Saturday after a group of students allegedly belonging to Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad tried to mob him after he cancelled the polls. Professor Harbhajan Singh [Images] Sabharwal, who was conducting the polls alongwith his colleague M L Nath, complained of uneasiness and collapsed after students of Madhav college in Ujjain tried to stop him from leaving the place after cancellation of the polls, Inspector General Ujjain Range, Anil Kumar told PTI.
Sabharwal, who had undergone a bypass surgery recently, was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead, Kumar said.
The condition of Nath, who had also complained of uneasiness, was reported to be stable by hospital sources.
