Congress Rajya Sabha member Saifuddin Soz has expressed confidence that talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference delegation would have some positive outcome.

Only tripartite talks can solve Kashmir: Hurriyat

Soz, who played a key role in bringing about the talks between the prime minister and the APHC leadership, told Rediff.com over the phone from Srinagar [Images] that a lot of hard work had gone behind the scene to turn these talks into a reality.

Why is India talking to Hurriyat now?

"Monday's meeting between Dr Singh and the Hurriyat delegation... I hope will be able to break the ice but I must caution that we should not expect miracles and solutions in a single night," he said.

Soz would be flying in to New Delhi later in the afternoon to assist the prime minister and other colleagues in the talks.
