From murder, extortion, narcotics and gold smuggling, realty mafia to gunrunning, Dawood and his hydra-headed organisation, the D-Company, have been there, done that.
Probably the most familiar name on the list, what India wants him most for is his involvement in the wave of bombings that killed 257 people in Mumbai, India's financial capital, on March 12, 1993.
Shortly before the blasts, Dawood fled to Karachi from Dubai and settled there, with a little help from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence. Latest reports say he has shifted base to Islamabad following America's decision to brand him a global terrorist. There is an Interpol red corner notice against Dawood as well. But he still lives a free man and reportedly attended his daughter's wedding in Dubai last month.
