Seeking to dispel apprehensions of a meningitis epidemic in the capital, the government on Friday said there was no cause for alarm.
Responding to supplementaries during Question Hour, Union Health Minister A Ramadoss said 14 people had died and 91 cases of the disease were reported till Thursday.
The disease, which was due to bacterial infection, could be treated easily with the help of antibiotics, he added.
The Union health ministry was closely monitoring the situation and was working with the Delhi government to check the disease, the minister said.
