The Punjab police on Thursday arrested two close aides of Babbar Khalsa International chief Jagtar Singh Hawara [Images].

The police also recovered a huge quantity of explosives and sophisticated arms and ammunition from the two terrorists identified as Swaran Singh of Kharar and Paramjit Singh alias Polla of Morinda.

The cops had earlier arrested Hawara and his aide Parwinder Singh alias Bhinda of Fatehpur Rania village in Fatehgarh Sahib.

However, Hawara's successor, BKI's acting India chief Gurdeep Singh alias Rana of Fatehgarh Sahib is still evading arrest.

From Swaran's place, the police seized 8.350 kg RDX, 1.9 kg PENT (explosive more powerful than RDX), four hand grenades, four pistols, two magazines, nine timers, 10 gelo sticks, 186 bullets and four detonators with switches.

The cops recovered 220 cartridges of an AK-47 gun from Polla's house.
