"Flights have now begun to operate and clearing of the huge backlog of flights of domestic and international airlines should pose no problems, if the visibility continues and there is no further rain. The huge backlog of passengers stranded since morning should be cleared," the airport official further added.

All international and domestic flights in and out of Mumbai airport had come to a halt since around 5 am due to poor visibility following heavy rains. The in-bound flights were diverted to other destinations.
