Dissident leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has reportedly declared to disrupt the January 30 election in Iraq.

An audiotape on a Web site purportedly by the Jordanian-born Zarqawi calls on Sunnis to fight against the election.

"We have declared a bitter war against the principle of democracy and all those who seek to enact it," the speaker says.

"Candidates in elections are seeking to become demigods, while those who vote for them are infidels," he adds.

Zarqawi has claimed responsibility for many bombings and beheadings in Iraq.

The US has put a $25 million reward on his head.
