Lebanese former prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri was killed in car blast, which ripped through the Lebanese capital of Beirut on February 14. Al-Hariri's bodyguards were among the 14 others killed.

The blast, which left over 100 wounded, occurred at 1000 GMT (1530 IST) in front of the five-star St George Hotel in the Lebanese capital's famed Corniche overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

The blast blew off facades of large buildings, covering cars, sidewalks and the street with rubble. Heavily armed security forces cordoned off the area as rescue workers and investigators combed the scene looking for casualties and clues.
