Goa [Images] assembly Speaker Vishwas Satarkar has served notices of breach of privilege motion on Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane and Sebastian Zumvu, the officer on special duty to Governor S C Jamir.

Two Bharatiya Janata Party legislators -- Damodar Naik and Vijay Pai Khot -- whose government was toppled a week ago by the Congress-led alliance, have moved the motions.

The notice served on Rane alleges that the CM was sitting in the speaker's chair after the confidence motion was passed and the speaker moved into his cabin on February 2.

Zumvu has been charged with criticising the government on behalf of the governor, in spite of earning salary from the state treasury.

Zumvu's press note, released on February 3, had justified the governor's action to dismiss the Manohar Parrikar [Images] government the previous day, while also coming down heavily on the speaker.

Satarkar has instructed Zumvu to file his reply by February 10 while the chief minister has been given time till February 16.
