As an Indian sportsperson, I feel sport is more special to me because it is a medium through which I am privileged to represent my country. Of course, there cannot be a greater high than the honour of playing for India.

Independence Day for me is a time to look back at our history with pride, and also with a heavy heart at all the sacrifices made by our brave countrymen during the freedom struggle.

It is also a time to feel a sense of unity and solidarity with all my fellow Indians.
