Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar on Sunday urged the Election Commission to prevent Railway Minister Lalu Prasad from 'misusing' official functions for electoral purposes.
In view of the next assembly polls, which are likely to be held in October-November this year, Nitish Kumar, who is also the chief ministerial candidate of the National Democratic Alliance, demanded that the Election Commission check the 'misuse' of official functions for electoral purposes.

Nitish alleged that Lalu was grossly misusing the official functions of Railways in Bihar as part of his campaign for the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
"The EC must notice Lalu's actions and stop him from misusing official functions," Kumar said during the ongoing 'Nyay' yatra (justice march) against the dissolution of the state assembly by Governor Buta Singh.
Nitish wondered why only RJD leaders were being invited to railway functions for which crores of rupees were being spent in advertisements.
