Amarendra Nath Ghosh.

Age: 43.

Reward: Not declared.

Wanted: For swindling money from several banks.

Last year, Ghosh, who is charged with swindling millions from several banks, was about to be extradited to India from Germany. As his extradition process was cleared, he swallowed a knife in Germany in a desperate bid to delay the inevitable.

The German authorities asked the CBI to hold on as 'Ghosh had swallowed an eight centimetre knife and badly hurt himself.'

Ghosh was chargesheeted by the CBI last year for entering into a criminal conspiracy with a senior manager at the Allahabad Bank and getting high valued banker's cheques issued in the name of fictitious people.

Later, in cahoots with a manager at the Punjab National Bank, Ghosh opened four bank accounts and credited the cheques to the tune of Rs 10.84 crore.

Ghosh also faces an inquiry in three other cases where Rs 16 crore had been swindled.

Declared a proclaimed offender in April 2002 he was arrested by Interpol in Munich.
