UK to probe pre-war intelligence

February 03, 2004 08:45 IST

The British government is expected shortly to order an enquiry into the pre-war assessment of Iraq's WMD capabilities.

Prime Minister Tony Blair is expected to make an announcement in this regard when he appears before the Commons Liaison Committee, according to his spokesman.

The move looks unavoidable, as US President George W Bush has decided to set up a panel to get the US' pre-war intelligence investigated.
