The Central Board of Secondary Education on Monday announced that the All India Pre-Medical Examination cancelled on Sunday after a question paper was leaked, would now be held on Saturday April 17.

"The All India Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (Preliminary) will now be held on April 17," Board chairman Ashok Ganguly told reporters in Delhi.

The test would be held between 1000 and 1300 IST at the same centres as mentioned in the admit cards issued to the candidates earlier. "The roll numbers would also remain unchanged," he said adding all preparations for the re-scheduled examination had been completed and security measures put in place.

Asked at what point the leak may have taken place, he said, "The CBSE depends on a number of outside agencies for storage, transportation and printing of papers. Some black sheep or weak links in them may have had bad intentions."

"Our system is very strong as can be understood from the fact that we are in a position to hold the test again in a week," he said.

The CBSE had constituted an in-house inquiry committee to go into all aspects of the leak, identify loopholes and 'further improve the system'. It would submit its report within three months.
