LeT threatens to intensify attacks

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar | October 28, 2003 19:20 IST

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba on Tuesday threatened to intensify attacks in Jammu and Kashmir during the Muslim holy month of Ramzam.

A local English daily quoted Lashkar spokesperson Abu Huzaifa as telling people "to keep themselves away from security installations as they can otherwise become unidentified targets of such attacks".

He said India's latest peace initiatives are meant to "deceive the people and not resolve the (Kashmir) issue".
