Police custody till Oct 28 for Mumbai blasts accused

Three people accused in August 25 blasts in Mumbai were on Tuesday remanded to police custody till October 28 by a city special court.

Amid tight security, Sayed Mohammed Hanif, his wife Fahimida and associate Arshat Shafi Ahmed Ansari were produced before designated judge A P Bhangale.

The trio were arrested on Monday under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. Though the accused were produced before the court yesterday they had alleged torture and assault in jail.

The court had sent them to J J hospital for medical examination by a panel of doctors.

The report placed before the court today said there were no external or internal injuries on Arshat and Hanif.

They have also been remanded to judicial custody till October 28 in Ghatkopar bomb blast of July 28.
