Army officer, jawan, 2 ultras killed in Doda and Poonch

An army officer, a jawan and two ultras were on Thursday killed in two separate encounters in Doda and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said in Jammu.
An encounter between security forces and militants broke out in Bhaderkote area of Kishtwar town in Doda district early on Thursday, the sources said adding Major Shekhawat, a jawan and an ultra were killed in the incident.
In another encounter at a forward post at Jhalas in Poonch district, security forces gunned down one militant. One AK-47 rifle, some ammunition and grenades were recovered from his person, the sources said.
Meanwhile, security forces recovered 100kg of RDX and other explosives from a village in Banihal area, Militants may have planned to use them for disrupting traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, defence sources said in Jammu on Thursday.
On receiving specific information from villagers, Rashtriya Rifle jawans in Banihal busted the hideout at Zoban Top on March 25.
The jawans dug around the area on Monday night and came across the RDX, 50litre of liquid explosive and different types of grenades and detonators. The digging ended on Thursday.
In another incident, a jawan B Dass and a village defence committee (VDC) member were on Wednesday evening injured in an encounter with militants in the Reasi area of Udhampur district, the sources said.
