Hurriyat meeting ahead of talks with Advani

December 03, 2003 16:23 IST

Ahead of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference's proposed talks with Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, the Kashmiri separatist amalgam's executive, general councils and working committee is meeting in Srinagar to evolve a consensus on the content of talks with Delhi.

The meeting presided over by APHC chairman Moulvi Mohammad Abbas Ansari is being attended by all senior members, including executive members Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Abdul Gani Bhat and Bilal Gani Lone, Hurriyat sources said.

The meeting, which is being held at the Hurriyat's Rajbagh headquarters, will try to arrive at a "greater consensus within the amalgam before holding parleys with the centre later this month," a source said.

"The leaders are doing their homework and discussing the roadmap so that talks are successful," he said.

"We have a roadmap or call it an outline of suggestions for the resolution of Kashmir issue. We have received some suggestions from non-resident Kashmiris also which we want to discuss with the leaders here and the diplomatic community," the Mirwaiz said.
