Six Pak ultras, four army personnel killed in Poonch encounter

Six Pakistani militants trying to infiltrate into Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir were killed in an encounter with the Indian Army, senior army officials said on Saturday.

 

Four army personnel, including three junior commissioned officers, were also killed in the encounter.

The exchange of fire, which occurred in the Mendhar sector of the district on Friday night, lasted several hours.

The militants, after crossing over to the Indian side, had tried to flee into the forests in Gani area on being challenged by the army, a senior officer said.
