Two BSF personnel killed in grenade attack in Srinagar

Two Border Security Force personnel were killed and six wounded in a powerful grenade explosion at the Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Thursday afternoon.

A senior police officer said the grenade hurled by some militants landed in a BSF vehicle parked near a Gurudwara.

The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital. Two of the injured are stated to be in a critical condition.

The area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nab those involved in the attack.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.

The two jawans killed in the explosion have been identified as --  Rahul Kohli and Sawaran Singh of  the 44 Battalion.
