IPG claims two pilots sent
for SARS test, A-I denies

April 24, 2003 19:12 IST

The Indian Pilots Guild of Air-India on Thursday claimed that two pilots have been asked to proceed for a SARS test.

The two pilots have been asked by the company's doctors to proceed for the confirmatory test, Capt Vikrant Sansare, general secretary of IPG, said in Mumbai in a statement.

Capt Sansare, however, declined to divulge the names of the two pilots saying the management 'is aware of it'.

An A-I spokesman, however, denied the claim and said if any pilot was suffering from SARS they would have been isolated and the matter referred to health authorities rather than sending them for a confirmatory test.
