Tamil Nadu goes without power

Most of Tamil Nadu went without power since 1000 hours IST on Thursday following snapping of the high tension lines between Sriperumputhur, near Chennai and Cuddappah in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

The Raj Bhavan, the state secretariat and ministerial bungalows in Chennai had to go without power until the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board officials intervened and restored power in select areas.

However, power supply is yet to be restored in the rest of the state and TNEB officials working to get the situation back to normal.
