Justice Srikrishna, 2 others to be
elevated to SC

The Chief Justice of Kerala, B N Srikrishna, whose report on the 1993 Mumbai riots had created a political storm, is being elevated to the Supreme Court along with two others.

Justice Srikrishna, Delhi Chief Justice S B Sinha and Chief Justice of Rajasthan Arun Kumar will soon be appointed as judges of the Supreme Court, sources in the law ministry said on Thursday.

The government has finalised their names on the basis of the recommendation of the collegium of judges of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of India Justice B N Kirpal.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will send the names to President A P J Abdul Kalam very soon for the latter to issue the appointment orders, they said.
