Explosives meant for J&K militants seized in Rajasthan

A huge consignment of explosives being sent to militants in Jammu & Kashmir from Gujarat to disrupt the assembly elections in the valley was seized in Barmer district of Rajasthan, the police said on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, they seized the explosives, including 50kg of nitrogen chemicals, 500 detonators, 500 metres of fuse coir bundle, and 750 metres of fuse wire, from a car at Sindhari on Monday. Two persons transporting the explosives were arrested.

The consignment was being sent to militants in Kashmir via Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The arrested persons, Om Prakash and Mangal Singh, are both residents of Rajasthan.
