Disgraced IAF commander M S Sekhon joins Congress

Air Marshal M S Sekhon, who was forced to quit for allegedly seeking political patronage to further his career, has joined the Congress.

He joined the party in the presence of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh at a function organised by the All India Congress Committee Ex-Servicemen Cell in Jalandhar on Monday.

Asked why he joined Congress, which was reportedly responsible for his ouster from the Indian Air Force, Sekhon said he had put the controversy behind him.

"No doubt the issue affected me adversely, but I always believe in marching ahead. I do not know who was responsible for my fate, but as I have already said, I believe in marching ahead instead of looking back," he said.
