Bihar plans to introduce spiritual course in school education

Anand Mohan Sahay in Patna

The Bihar government plans to introduce 'Jeewan Vigyan' -- a spiritual course -- in school education in order to prepare children to cope with growing tendency toward violence, and stress-related problems.

The course would help children retain physical, mental health and inculcate moral values, Primary Education Minister Ram Chandra said.

It is also being considered for introduction in the university curriculum, Higher Education Minister Ram Lakhan Ram 'Raman' said.
