Seven militants killed in J&K,
infiltration bid foiled

Three Pakistani militants were killed and two security personnel injured in an exchange of fire as troops foiled an infiltration bid in Nowshera area of Machil sector, they said. A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.

Three Lashkar-e-Tayiba militants were killed in an eight-hour long encounter with Rashtriya Rifles personnel at Zawoora village in Pulwama district, they said.

The encounter took place when the security personnel, on a tip-off, cordoned off the house in which the militants were hiding. The house was gutted in the firing, the police said.

Another LeT militant identified as Abu Jehad, a resident of Gujranwalla in Pakistan, was killed in a gunfight with security personnel at Sangalnar-Kandi in Kupwara, police said.
