Police on the lookout for PMK president

N Sathiya Moorthy in Chennai

On the directions of the Madras high court, the Chennai police is on the lookout for G K Mani, president and legislature party leader of the Pattali Makkal Katchi, founded by S Ramadoss.

He has been charged with interfering in the affairs of a public trust.

The court had named an eight-member committee under retired justice S Thangamani to run the Chenkalvaraya Naciker Trust, which owns properties worth crores and runs educational institutions, among others.

Thangamani told the court that he wanted to step down after Mani and PMK legislator 'Kaaduvetti' Guru reportedly stormed into a committee meeting of the CNT in August and declared that only a Vanniar could head the trust.

It was then that the high court directed the police to arrest the two.

Ramadoss has also been charged with contempt in the case.
