Jagir Kaur gets anticipatory bail
in power theft case

A Kapurthala court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to former Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) president Jagir Kaur on furnishing a bond of Rs 30,000 and a surety of an equal amount to the satisfaction of the police.

Jagir Kaur is embroiled in a power theft case registered against her by the Kapurthala police on the complaint of the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) officials on November seven.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Zora Singh directed Jagir Kaur to surrender her passport and not to leave the country without the permission of court.

He also ordered her to join the police investigation and not to temper with evidence.

Jagir Kaur has already secured an interim stay on her arrest till November 17.
