An enthusiastic audience turned up at the Tulip Star Hotel (formerly the Juhu Centaur) in Mumbai on November 1, 2002 for the Indian Telly Awards, which seeks to reward achievers in India's television industry.
The awards were instituted by indiantelevision.com. Among those on the jury were Anil Dharkar, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Dolly Thakore, Kiran Deohans, Lekh Tandon, Rekha Nigam and Amit Khanna.
