The sources said militants opened fire from a hilltop on the convoy at around 1400 hours.
Five CRPF jawans and two civilians were injured in the firing, the sources said adding the injured were rushed to the military hospital in Udhampur.
An operation has been launched in the area to track down the militants, they said.
The convoy was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, sources added.
