Forty-six killed in bus accident near Kolkata

At least 46 passengers were killed on Monday when a tourist bus overturned on Ghatakpukur road near Kolkata.

Sunderbans Development Minister Kanti Ganguly said rescue operations were going on to extricate the bodies from the bus, which was on its way from Ghatakpukur in South 24 Parganas district to Kolkata.

Besides Ganguly, the district magistrate and superintendent of police were supervising the rescue work.

The number of injured could not be ascertained, Ganguly said.
