Angry Abdullah leaves Parliament in a huff

An angry Farooq Abdullah, chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, said on Friday that he would have favoured action against Pakistan similar to the one taken by the United States against the Taliban in Afghanistan.

"I don't know, you ask them," Abdullah shot back to a reporter when asked whether he was satisfied with the government's response to Pakistan's continued support to cross-border terrorism.

Asked for his personal opinion, Abdullah said, "I will do what [US President George] Bush did."

"I want them to know that our nation is behind any action to end terrorism and that action must be taken," Abdullah said.

Asked whether he favoured all-out war with Pakistan, the chief minister almost shouted, "I don't care what action you want me to take. I would take that action if I were in the government."
