Security forces kill 5 terrorists in J&K

Six people, including five terrorists, were killed in separate encounters in Poonch district of Jammu division on Sunday, official sources said on Monday.

The troops killed three terrorists who were trying to sneak into Indian territory through Salothi area of Poonch in the night, they said, adding that a jawan died in the encounter.

Some arms and ammunition, including three Kalashnikov-type rifles, were recovered from the slain terrorist, they said.

In another encounter, security forces shot dead two terrorists in Manwali village of Surankote tehsil of Poonch, they said.

Reports from Rajouri district said an encounter between security forces and terrorists took place in Sangali area.
