They said heavily armed Ranvir Sena men stormed a make-shift camp of labourers in Diliyanka village late on Sunday night and opened indiscriminate fire, killing the six on the spot.
Sources said the Ranvir Sena had demanded rangdari tax (protection money) from a Rajasthani contractor at Diliya and threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to pay up.
Senior police officials, including the superintendent of police in Bhojpur, are camping at the spot.
